After proper oral hygiene instruction, we began to permanently restore the teeth.
This has been an extensive treatment where all the old fillings (amalgam) have been replaced for partial ceramic restorations. The restorations are made of partial crowns that we glue to the teeth. The advantage is, less tooth tissue needs to be ground away than full crowns. These types of restorations achieve 99% survival in 10 years in our own studies.
There were also several inflammations still present under the molars (x-rays), so we also had to redo some root canal treatments beforehand. An implant with crown was placed for the missing molar.
The post-treatment photos were taken after 5 years of operation.
